Background of Research Study
Eligible Participants
- 75 years of age or older
Ineligible Participants
- Younger than 75 years of age
- Allergic reaction to the flu shot or eggs
- Symptoms of an autoimmune disease or systemic inflammatory disease (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis)
- Currently on steroids (e.g. prednisone, methotrexate)
- Have congestive heart failure and or COPD
- Diagnosed with cancer recently(except basal cell skin cancer)
- On radiation or chemotherapy in the last 3 months
Research Study Procedures
Optional Visits: A monthly blood draw will be taken after the third study visit and continue until the end of the study season. Participants have the opportunity to make extra money.
